21 Things to Do on a Girls Getaway in Maui
1. Attend a Luau
2. Drink Some Local Coffee
Drink some locally-grown coffee, and buy some to take home too!
3. Snorkel and Swim With Sea Turtles and Dolphins
There are many boat tours on Maui that offer snorkeling and swimming with the sea turtles and dolphins. But, my favorite way to do that is with a private or smaller group, not crowded like sardines on a large boat with a ton of people. It feels a lot more like being on a boat with old friends.
If a tour seems to leave early, like 6:30 am, remember the time difference. If you’re from the mainland, that may be 9:30 am to 12:30 pm where you live. You may wake up naturally before sunrise while in Hawaii!

Loco moco has many variations but is most common made with hamburger patties and fried eggs on top of rice and covered with a rich, brown gravy.
During Hawaii’s plantation era, saimin, similar to Chinese egg-noodle soup, was created. The recipe has evolved over past decades by Hawaii’s various immigrant groups. Noodles similar to Chinese chow mein were mixed with a Japanese dashi broth, then kamaboko, kimchi, green onions, Portugese sausage and Spam were added, contributing to the common ingredients in this modern-day recipe. Saimin sounds a lot like ramen or pho, I can’t to go back to Hawaii and to try it.
In the early 1900’s, Puerto Rican immigrants brought the recipe for pasteles, similar to tamales. Pasteles have grown into a common traditional food in Hawaii.
