Where to Start if You Don’t Know How to Knit
If you don’t know how to knit, but would like to learn, Lovecrafts has some good tutorials and videos to help you get started.
My Favorite Yarn
I want to give a huge shout-out to Paintbox Yarns, Simply Aran. It’s truly soft, I can put it against my neck or head without it itching or bothering my skin. It doesn’t snag easily and is super easy to work with. I have not been able to find yarn this nice at my local craft stores, even with the “baby” soft yarns. I truly love it.
Easy Holiday Knitting Projects to Work on During the Pandemic
Baskets
These baskets are all so cute and great for storage! If you make one to give as a gift, you can easily fill it up with baked goods, self-care items, craft tools and supplies, hot cocoa ingredients, succulents and garden tools, or even toys!
Snowmen and Winter Creatures
Adding a homemade holiday decoration to a basket or giftwrapped present is always a cute presentation. These snowmen can be displayed all winter long, even after December is over.
Coasters, Mug Rugs, and Coffee Mug Cozys
Give the gift of a coffee mug with a packet of hot cocoa, cider or tea, as well as a homemade coaster, mug rug or coffee cozy inside! Since so many of us work from home now, this would be useful for a home office. These holiday knitting projects make great teacher gifts too!
Socks
A pair of knitted socks are such a cozy way to keep your feet warm during the winter and socks are a gift many people enjoy receiving.
Hats, Headbands and Mittens
Gifting knitted hats, mittens and ear warmers in current colors and designs for the holidays are not only cute, but really useful.
Holiday Decorations
These decorative holiday knitting projects are adorable. If you don’t make them to gift to a friend or family member, make some for your own home instead!
